About Speed Tortoise

Speed Tortoise is an independent, open — source internet speed test. Run a quick check for download, upload, latency, jitter and packet loss — right in your browser. No account, no tracking.

This project was inspired by the design of speed.cloudflare.com but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cloudflare, Inc. All Cloudflare trademarks, logos and brand assets belong to their respective owners. Any resemblance to Cloudflare's site is for demonstration and educational purposes only.

How it works

• Download / upload tests fetch and upload bytes to our own /api/download and /api/upload endpoints.
• Latency and jitter are measured via lightweight /api/ping requests.
• Packet loss is estimated via /api/packet-loss.
• Results are computed locally in your browser and never sent to a third party.

Why Tortoise?

The rabbit was fast. The tortoise is steady, reliable, and honest — a better mascot for a transparent speed test.
